Experience

-Trained my off the track TB “Brandy Alexander” to compete in Intermediate level horse trials and Preliminary (one star) 3 day events in the 80’s- Received high point year end awards 1987 & 1988- spent summers as a working student for Olympic event rider, Denny Emerson

-Achieved Pony Club “A” rating in 1988 at age 16

-Graduated from Georgetown University in 1993 with a degree in Psychology, with a focus on child development

-Spent time in England grooming for a member of the US equestrian event team coached by Captain Mark Phillips

-Completed “Mental Health program” at Montgomery College in 1995 and worked at the Episcopal Center for Children in Washington, DC from 1996-1998: a school and residential treatment facility for emotionally disturbed children- providing therapeutic play, conflict resolution and crisis intervention

-Worked at local barns caretaking, riding, and starting horses

– Discovered dressage while working and riding for a local veterinarian and upper level dressage rider- enjoyed taking lessons from Olympic event rider/coach Jimmy Woffard, and being a working student for local dressage trainer Fred Weber

-Showed clients’ horses in recognized Dressage shows- became BLM 1st level Champion in 2001 on “Femme Fatal”

-Trained my young horse “Pampero”and became sixth in the country in the FEI Young Horse Championship in the 5 Year Old Division- in 2002

-Worked with an I level dressage judge on his horse (soon to become my horse)  “Madonna” and showed her at Prix St. George and Intermediare I levels in dressage – Scores in the 60’s helped me qualify for Devon

-Have ridden with dressage trainers such as Betinna Drummand, Manolo Mendez, Mary flood, Craig Stevens and Mary Wanless, and audited clinics with “natural horsemen” John Lyons and Harry Whitney

-Discovered alternative French methods of horse training to improve my relationship with my horses and promote their well being, and overall performance, and soundness- joined a book club and began reading works by Baucher, Beudant, La Guerniere (to name just a few)

-Since 1999 have trained horses to include riding, showing, jumping, driving, ground work, in-hand, and liberty work- starting young horses and re-training ones with difficulties

-Since 1999 have taught students to help improve their abilities and relationships with their own horses, to include seat work, jumping, showing, ground work, liberty work, in-hand work, trail riding, some driving, and vaulting

-2014-Selected to become a student of Philippe Karl’s Ecole de Legerete or School of Lightness- have attended clinics and ridden with instructors of his school including Bertrand Raveaux, Stephanie Durand, Andrea, and former instructor Nicole W
